Chapter 4.4: Moving in, growing up, moving out

Rory visited most days, and had quickly gotten to know the legacy family. Alexis and her future son-in-law (she assumed it wouldn’t be long before he popped the question)were catching up on each others days when Alexis felt a tingling sensation. She’d heard about this, and although she was sad she wouldn’t see her only daughter marry, she was proud of all she had achieved throughout her lifetime.

Alexis was 94, and spent most of her days in her nightie.

The family realised what was going on immediately and burst into tears. For Indie especially, it brought back so many memories of her own near-death experience.

The family were distraught, even Madden was going to miss his grandma.

But after a few moments the family realised that something different was happening here. Indie was the first to catch on, having experience this before herself.

The family stood watching in awe, not believing they could be seeing this for a second time.

Alexis, after everything she had gone through with Indie) had taken the time to put a death flower into her inventory. The grim reaper had accepted the flower and Alexis felt young again. More like 72 than 94.

(I had no idea that she had the death flower in her inventory, and I certainly didn’t know they could use the death flower as an elder…none of my Sims have used it before when dying of old age Also, I promise this is the last death flower they have, so there will be no more family revivals in the near future!)

The death flower had saved yet another family member. But the garden was long gone now, and nothing new had been planted.

Indie ceased the moment and proposed to Rory, she didn’t want to waste another minute of her life without being his wife. They married right there and then, and in their eyes it was simply perfect. Indie took Rory’s last name and became Indie Burton.

Indie knew it wasn't traditional, but she couldn't waste another minute without Rory as her husband.

Alexis also made the most of her prolonged life and called in to see her sister. Although they’d had a bit of sibling rivalry in the past, they were good friends now. They were both very proud of each other. The next day Berlin passed away.

The two sister's of generation three shared a final hug.

Martyn took Blaze to the library and as expected, he quickly read all of his books. Martyn felt he was going to go on to do some great things.

Martyn was glad that Blaze was such a quick learner, he would have never been able to take Madden to the quiet library.

Indie revealed she was pregnant, and the family was thrilled for her. She spent a lot of time with Blaze, practicing for when her own bundle of joy arrived.

Indie loved looking after Blaze.

However, looking after Madden got Indie a little stressed. Although she hated to think like it, she worried her own child may end out like Madden. She tried to put it to the back of her mind, wanting her pregnancy to go as smoothly as possible. She told herself that Madden’s behaviour came from Michaela’s genes.

Madden was at most times, not a delightful child to talk to (unless the topic was himself).

While it was common knowledge that Martyn had a closer relationship with his youngest son, Blaze, he still tried to spend quality time with Madden. Truthfully, Madden had gotten slightly better since going to school and getting into more of a routine. But homework was never an easy task. Martyn and Madden were usually up until the small hours of the morning arguing and trying to get it done. Sometimes Martyn ended up doing it for him.

Madden often got impatient and bored, homework wasn't fun.

A shot of three generations on the legacy couch.

Sadly, (or maybe it was a good thing) Madden and Blaze never spent anytime with each other. It was like they were not related at all. They had nothing in common (besides family and living in the same house). Martyn felt that at least Madden could not be a bad influence on his brother.

Madden had insisted on a playground in their backyard - and his wish was his dad's command.

Rory would often enjoy a drink at the outdoor bar at night time. The family often questioned if he was a bit of an alcoholic. (I’ve had this bar in the legacy household since the legacy started, and he is the only one who has ever used it on free will).

Rory didn't drink every night, but he liked to sit under the stars and have a quiet drink every now and again.

Indie went into labour during the middle of the night, and Rory rushed her off to the hospital. Alexis was grateful that she would get to meet her newest grandchild, something she had never imagined.

Indie had been enjoying a nice sleep, but the baby was ready to arrive.

And so this generation seemed full of boys. Cory Burton was brought into the family. Like his mother, he had a taste in music right from the very beginning. He was a well behaved and happy baby. Indie and Rory decided to give everyone some space and moved into their own home, not too far away from the legacy house.

Finally, Indie was a mother. (She was taking foreeever to max out her guitar skill (even with the fast learning LTR), so I gave up on that).

It was Blaze’s birthday next, and of course there was no party involved. This time Blaze was not allowed candles on the cake, to prevent previous birthday incidents.

Martyn was excited, but he couldn't believe how quickly his children were growing up.

Blaze grew into a healthy child, with a great love for the outdoors. After picking out some new clothes, he took off into the neighbourhood with his brand new bicycle in search for some bugs, or maybe a rare gem.

Blaze spent all day out on his bike, ready for an adventure.

Thanks for reading. That’s it until after Xmas, or possibly until after New Years. I hope you all have a great holiday, and happy simming. :)

When we come back the possible heirs will grow up, and it will be time to vote for the heir of generation five. Exciting stuff, huh?
