Chapter 3.5: The next heir is announced

Thanks to those who voted on the poll for Generation 4 heir!

Levi decided to branch out and take a break from all of the non-fiction novels he had been writing. He started on a drama novel titled, “Reviving the Legacy.’ As I’m sure you have guessed, it was based on his family’s lifestyle.

Levi put all his focus and energy into writing a brilliant drama novel.

Meanwhile, Martyn was living successfully as a young adult. His job in athletics was going well, and he was already a Snack Hawker (level 2). He was physically in great shape, and had a great relationship with every member of his family. There was only one thing missing, and that was Michaela. She was still a couple of days away from aging into a young adult.

Martyn felt good about life. He had almost everything he wanted.

While Martyn was keeping himself busy waiting for Michaela to age, Indie had taken up the guitar. She was becoming a very talented painter, but Syd and Alexis were worried that she didn’t get out and socialize enough, she just stayed indoors all day painting. They put it down to her couch potato and slob like tendencies, but managed to convince her to pick up the guitar and play it in the park.

Indie got to know her aunty and cousin.

Finally Michaela became a young adult and Martyn wasted no time in asking her out on a date. They met up at the waterfall and spent a lovely time together, falling in love.

Michaela and Martyn still wanted to be together, now they had aged.

Martyn couldn’t explain what came over him. He’d always known Michaela was the one, and with a sudden impulse he proposed. When she agreed to become his wife, Martyn didn’t just stop there. They had an impromptu wedding, just the two of them. It felt right to them, and he just had to hope his family would understand why they had done it that way. He didn’t want that decision to influence whether he became heir or not.

In Martyn's eyes, it was the perfect way to become a husband to the love of his life.

While Martyn went home to nervously tell his family what he had just done, Michaela went off to the hairdressers and had a quick makeover. With her new look she felt more confident and went to the music theatre to try and get herself a job. She was successful, and became a ‘fan’. She felt that was good enough for now, but there was something more important she wanted to do. She’d always struggled with her weight, and now she had married into a legacy – she realised she needed to change it.

Michaela set her mind on the perfect image of herself.

Michaela was welcomed into the family with open arms. She hadn’t told Martyn of her plans, but Syd was more than encouraging. He offered to train Michaela as much as she liked until she became her perfect weight. Michaela was so grateful for the way the Freeman family let her into their house, their legacy. She was determined to make them proud, if Martyn was chosen as heir of course. But she had good faith in him.

Syd was more than happy to help his daughter-in-law lose the extra weight.

Michaela put all her energy (literally) into losing weight. She ate all the right foods, it was hard, but she knew she could do it. She couldn’t wait to fit into slim clothes. Most importantly, she knew she had a higher chance of becoming pregnant if she lost a little more weight. She was dying to have children with Martyn.

Michaela went all out to achieve her goal, eating only the healthiest of meals. But most importantly - thinking thin thoughts.

Indie was still playing the guitar and painting as much as she could – in fact, she rarely did anything else. She was pleased to discover Michaela was a virtuoso and also loved to play the guitar. Indie earned many tips every time she played the guitar, but her family was her number one fan. Even Berlin (who had just aged into an elder) would go to the park just to hear her niece play.

Indie's family was the most supportive of her skills.

Levi aged into a young adult, and as soon as he finished his hit novel ‘Reviving the Legacy’ he moved out. Writing it all down had made him understand his family more, and he realised it just wasn’t for him. He was pleased to find out that he had not been voted for heir. He loved his family, but he was too different from them. He enjoyed writing, and he didn’t want to have to hide his neurotic-like symptoms in his own house. Now that Martyn had married, he knew children wouldn’t be far away and they needed the space in the house.

Due to an annoying glitch in the latest patch update the family sold all of the businesses they owned and put the money to good use, buying Martyn a beautiful modern house overlooking Sunset Valley.

Levi's house was perhaps even nicer than the legacy household! Including an indoor swimming pool and two lounges.

Indie painted her first masterpiece painting and was completing many opportunities, moving closer to achieving her lifetime want everyday. Needless to say, she was a little disappointed when she wasn’t selected as heir. She understood the final decision though, and was sort of relieved with all the pressure having been taken off her.

Indie knew Martyn would make their ancestors proud as heir.

Martyn had already achieved his lifetime want after the businesses were sold. He had just maxed out the athletic skill when he learnt that he was heir. He was a little shocked at first.

It was a big commitment, but Martyn was ready to take over as heir.

When it finally sank in Martyn was blissfully happy. He already had the perfect life: a job he loved, a wonderful wife, a happy family and a nice house. He was ready to share that with another generation, ready to take on his role in reviving the legacy.

Thanks for reading! This was a pretty short update, another update should be up in the next couple of days.

  1. I hope Michaela doesn’t lose too much weight – just enough so she’s healthier. I hate overly skinny sims in this game. That said, it often weirdly changes their shape with age: my sim Chaotica Lazarus exercised all the time so she got skinny as a teen/Ya but as an elder, despite exercising non-stop, being level 10 athletic skill and career, she got fat again.
